Oh my goodness, can it be? Actual show notes? It is!
Hi all, Madeline here! My apologies, guys, I never meant to let this blog go for so long! And if we want to be taken seriously as a podcast… well, I’d better start putting in the work again, especially when we have some exciting things coming up! (In all honesty, I started this podcast right before my life got very busy, but I hadn’t known at the time just how busy it would get!)
This here is less of a breakdown of the episode and more of a lot of linkage for things and people mentioned in it, so here we go.
You, dear reader, may have heard by now that I went to 221B Con this year. Naturally, I had to give a recap of it. I wish I could have done a more thorough job of recapping the panel about Moran that I was actually on, but I was having such a good time that… I don’t recall much, naturally.
If you’d like to read my more coherent and thoughtful recap, I posted on my own blog here and here. If you’d like to get a somewhat different look at this year’s con, Brad Keefauver and I talked about it on The Watsonian Weekly (unlike me, Brad has been to the con multiple times before!).
If you’d like to know more about the con, you can go to their website, 221bcon.com. And if you’d like to hear the creators, Crystal Noll and Heather Holloway, talk to the IHOSE team about it, you can listen to that here.
And if you’d like to read Josh Harvey’s essay on Moriarty and music to get a taste of his presentation (and what’s in store for you when we get him on the podcast!), you can read it here on the Parallel Case of St. Louis blog.
And last but not least… yes, okay, hotel living is expensive, and getting there is pricey, but if you can manage that plus the $50 registration fee… Come on down. (Or up, if you happen to be south of Atlanta.) 221B Con is a really good time, and as I noted in the show, you don’t have to attend every single panel. Sometimes you just connect with friends old and new in the bar over food, funny stories, and Canon Pictionary, and that’s okay!
Plus, as we talk about in the show, we’re hoping to both be in-person next year to do a podcast episode, so… if that pans out, come join us! This podcast is ultimately about having fun, and Dixie and I are determined to have some fun at 221B Con.
Please remember that if you want to get in touch with us, you can email us at dynamicsofapodcast@gmail.com, or reach us on Twitter @dynamicsofapod. We also have a Facebook page I’m still figuring out right here. But seriously, we’d love to hear from you guys. We’d love to get feedback, and hear your thoughts about our beloved dastardly professor (and his tiger-esque bestie!).
Thank you for watching the show, and we will see you, maybe, hopefully, at Sherlollicon, coming up June 4-5! We’ll be hosting a discussion about Moriarty and Moran. (Go register for that: it’s totally virtual!)
And keep an eye on our Twitter, as we might have some more neat things coming up!
